Assumptions
When you have used all the available clues, you might be stuck because there are still unsolved squares left. In this case, you need an assumption. This means that you assume a square to be black or white, and continue solving the puzzle with this extra information. So it's best to put an assumption in a square that enables more clues.
If you see that the puzzle becomes impossible, it means your assumption was wrong, and you know that that square must have the other color.
If you can solve the entire puzzle, your assumption was correct.
To mark assumptions, go to the menu Assume and select Assume. When this option is active, the markers you specify will be assumption markers. They are lighter-shaded colors compared to the real markers.
If you're satisfied with all your assumptions, select Assume | Accept Assumption. This will turn all your Assumption markers into real markers.
You can remove all your assumption markers through Assume | Clear Assumption.
